Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. - Ferris Bueller
If you haven't watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off, stop everything and go watch it. Well, once you've read my post that is. But it's funny.
It's November, y'all. Can you believe it? Two more months before the new year... time goes by so fast and it's crazy. Somedays it feels slow... but I've heard it said the days are long, but the years are quick. Oh how true! How many times do we long for a certain day to just end? I've definitely been there. Yet a year I longed for with great anticipation and eagerness, is almost over.

2022 was a BIG year for me. Life changing in so many ways, but I'll save that for my Year in Review post I'll be doing after Christmas. For now, let us talk about November. I find I am most productive when I begin my month with a plan. Written plan with goals I want to achieve and things I want to do. I don't follow through perfectly, but success is small. Getting up each day and starting again, trying again is a win in someway, right? That's what I tell myself at least. Makes me feel more accomplished ;) Nonetheless, I'm here once again with a new month, a new beginning, and another chance of growth. Let's begin once again, my overall goal is to grow in: mind, body, and soul. And so, I have my plan. I try to keep my goals manageable and attainable. I want to see a difference, be honest with myself in my abilities, yet also pushing myself. In pushing myself, I can grow. And so, it's full steam ahead!
Growing in mind: Slowing down and finding peace
daily walks. 20 mins. 1 mile. walking outside. getting sunshine. studies have shown the numerous benefits.
finish Boundaries. I began this book several months ago, and I need to just finish it. taking 1 hour each day, it'll be done in no time.
book club read. my family began a book club this year, we meet each month so you've gotta finish the book beforehand. we read this book together and it's honestly quite nice.
Healing my body: Through food and exercise
5 strength workouts each week. I just recently finished a course on healing my metabolism. wow. the information honestly has blown me away. she speaks of exercising well and gives a plan for setting up your workouts. it's written down for the next 4 weeks; so, I'll just follow through.
metabolic eating. 3 meals, 3 snacks. carbohydrate, protein, and fat.
weekly meal plans. this helps with (1) eating metabolically well; (2) staying on budget; and (3) meal preps.
This has been a huge challenge for me. I've dealt with hormonal imbalances, mood swings, and very low points. I've heard multiple times: you are what you eat. So, if I focus on eating well, imagine the healing I could achieve.
Growth of soul: Mental and Physical prayer
morning bible study. the Bible in a Year Podcast by Fr. Mike Schmitz. if you've ever wanted to read the Bible in full, try this podcast. it's manageable and educational. full of such growth and wisdom.
gratitude list. daily list of 3 things to give thanks for. I wrote about this last week, and I have been working on this sense.
daily meditation. taking 20 minutes a day in silent, personal prayer.
My relationship with God is my number one focus. I know that if I take care of that, God will take care of everything else. I've read this quote before, heard different variations, but all the same idea. If your relationship with God is strong, and you focus on that, everything else in your life will fall into place.
Final reflection: Verse for the month
Let us go therefore with confidence to the throne of grace: that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in seasonable aide. - Hebrews 4:16
The time will pass anyway.
I can choose to follow through with my goals, grow this month, come out stronger and healthier than before... or I can choose not to. Either way, November will pass and December will come. Despite the failures of last month, the set backs, and disappointments, this is a new month. A clean slate. A story waiting to be written. And it is my story, my chance to write it as I wish. I am excited for this month. I have great hopes and aspirations. The days are ahead of me, and I am strong and beautifully made.
We can do this. I can do all things in him who strengthens me.
Don't forget to comment below your goals for the month. We are here to encourage one another. Make it a great month! I believe in you.
