I couldn’t tell you a time when things were constant. From the time of my childhood to even my young adult life, there’s always something happening. Today, as we began preparing our tea (no, we’re not British, but we could be!), the goats got out. It’s a very common occurrence but generally the boys are available to handle it. However they were busy, so we were their ill-equipped substitutes. Hey, you can say whatever, but we did get all 8 goats in the pen without too much struggle, (carrying a pail of feed works wonders, y’all!) However, they will all charge you at once with no respect for personal space, let alone social distancing.

A childhood favorite was our bike rides to the local creek. Spring, summer, fall, winter... you name it, we always found a reason to head to the creek. We went there this past weekend and showed Bernard some of the local hidden beauties of our town. He is now at the age when the creek becomes your hide-out and we could not miss an opportunity to introduce him. Of course, after a heavy rain fall, the waterfalls are flowing and the dips are full perfect for swimming.

I would love to share more, but it’s late, so I’ll end with this. Times are hard but in everything stay strong. Hold fast to Our Lord. Pray without ceasing. Trust without wavering. Holy Week is a wonderful time to grow in faith and with everything that’s going on it can be very hard to stay strong in your Lenten penance, but don’t give up. Our God is not a God who quits or abandons. He is a God who strengthens, encourages and guides. When everything seems against you, staying steadfast in your faith will strengthen your faith in ways you didn’t know.

St. Mary of the Assumption

“Be nothing solicitous; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”‭‭ Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬
