cowboy country: grand teton national park + an elk

we saw the beauty. we were amazed. we were out of breath - literally. we live at sea level and hiked up to around 8000 feet elevation. we saw inspiration point, the clearest and coldest lakes, winding off road paths, a moose, and the reflection in the pond. it was absolutely beautiful.

I had never been to wyoming and really didn’t know anything about it aside from rodeos and cowboys. but my husband had been talking about wanting to visit grand teton for quite a while and me being the travel obsessed woman that I am… was ecstatic to visit a new place. I’m always down to drink coffee, go hiking, and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

anywho, we booked a flight, packed, and headed of to idaho falls (read here). we were only there for the weekend, so we had to take full advantage. we spent friday, hiking and exploring the tetons. I can honestly say - they were amazing !! I couldn’t believe how clear the lakes were !! if I had realized, I would’ve brought my swimsuit and gone for a polar plunge, yes the glacier water was freezing. however, I know for next time… perhaps we’ll even bring enough water and hike along the cascade trail. either way, it was such a refreshing getaway and was absolutely another one for the books !!
