spending these days admiring the beauty around me... from the simplest things the greatest joy can grow. a few days ago we took a scenic tour and snapped some photos of bluebonnets. I'm not going to say that after living in Texas for my whole life, I finally did a bluebonnet photo session but yes. that is exactly what happened. I watch the flowers bloom every April and generally admire them as I drive by, telling myself "this year I'm going to stop and take photos". well, thank you, 2021 for being my year. it was a perfectly cloudy day for the session and oh. my. goodness. the bluebonnets were prettier than ever! they're so delectable. so enjoy. sorry for the bombardment of photos. I couldn't just pick one.
it has been a beautiful spring. and the roadways blooming with flowers is breathtaking. it is a sea of color and growth. it is a reminder to me that God is present everywhere. it may be small, almost unnoticeable, but He is there. there shining through the sun rays. there in the clouds hanging low overhead. there in each blooming flower. each bluebonnet. He is present even when I forget to stop and acknowledge Him. He is always there, with arms out stretched to take a walk with us or just sit quietly as we gaze upon the world He created for us. oh what a time to live.
“Let your door stand open to receive Him, unlock your soul to Him, offer Him a welcome in your mind, and then you will see the tickets of simplicity, the treasure of peace, the joy of grace. Throw wide the gate of your heart, stand before the sun of the everlasting light.” St. Ambrose
